Mini Tummy Tuck Atlanta
Mini Abdominoplasty
A mini tummy tuck can help restore a firmer, flatter-looking midsection without the recovery time associated with traditional abdominoplasty surgery. The abdominal area of the body is among the most common concerns for many men and women. In most cases, individuals exercise and eat properly, but still fail to achieve a sculpted, flat tummy. Atlanta plastic surgeon, Dr. Christopher Killingsworth and his plastic surgery team can determine if you are a candidate for mini tummy tuck surgery to restore natural-looking contours.*
WHAT IS A MINI TUMMY TUCK?
A mini tummy tuck is appropriate for men and women who need cosmetic improvement to only the lower area of the abdomen that is just below the belly button. The surgery can remove excess skin and fat, but does not tighten the underlying muscles like a traditional tummy tuck.*
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A MINI TUMMY TUCK?*
Mini tummy tuck surgery can:
- Remove excess fat and skin from the lower abdominal area
- Even out the contours of the midsection without repositioning the navel
- Allow for shorter recovery times when compared to full tummy tuck surgery

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR A MINI TUMMY TUCK?
A mini abdominoplasty is only recommended for patients who are within their ideal weight range and have stubborn fat around the lower abdomen. During your mini tummy tuck consultation, our plastic surgeons will examine the location of your extra fat on your abdomen and the sides of your waist to determine if you are a candidate. We will describe how a mini tummy tuck can improve your midsection and the surgical steps that will be taken during your procedure.*
HOW IS A MINI ABDOMINOPLASTY PERFORMED?
General anesthesia is used for most mini tummy tucks, but local anesthesia may be used for your mini abdominoplasty surgery. You should expect the surgery to last approximately ninety minutes. Your plastic surgeon will make a small incision just below your navel, remove any fat from the area, and then pull the skin tight. Sutures are used to close the incision, and your abdomen is wrapped in a compression bandage to hold the soft tissues in place.*
After your mini tummy tuck, you will experience mild discomfort, swelling, and tenderness in your lower abdominal area. The severity of these symptoms is different for each patient and should last no longer than three days. Constipation is also common after a mini tummy tuck. You will need to rest for the first two weeks, after which you can resume some light activities. The healing process can take several months, so you should be patient with your body and get plenty of rest. The results of a mini abdominoplasty can be long-lasting. Patients are encouraged to maintain an active lifestyle with consistent dieting and exercise to help maintain their results.*
